Xperia 5 II Reportedly More Expensive Than Its Predecessor

The Xperia 5 II combines the latest and greatest of Sony’s audio-visual technology from their high-end consumer products into a more compact form. While the phone has a considerably affordable price tag than the Xperia 1 II where it is $249 less, it is still by no means inexpensive as it retails for $949.


Sony vaguely announced that the device would go on sale in December however that is just applicable to the US and is not the case for all regions. It was revealed that pre-orders for US and Denmark would start from September 29 and that the phone is set to arrive in many EU markets from October 20.

As launch dates and prices are different from country to country, bellow is a list with information regarding the availability and price of the Xperia 5 II in different countries.

Austria: Price= EUR 900, Availability= TBA 

Bulgaria: Price=BGN 1,650, Availability=Autumn

Czechia: Price= CZK 25,000, Availability= Autumn

Denmark: Price=DKK 6,500, Availability= Pre-orders - September 29 , Launch date - October 20 

Finland: Price= EUR 900, Availability= October 20

Ireland: Price= EUR 900, Availability= Autumn

Italy: Price= TBA, Availability= Pre-orders - From October , Launch date - TBA 

The Netherlands: Price= EUR 900, Availability= October

Norway: Price= NOK 9,000, Availability= October 20

Spain: Price= EUR 900, Availability= Autumn

Sweden: Price= SEK 9,000, Availability= October 20

UK: Price= GPB 800, Availability= Autumn

US: Price= USD 950, Availability= Pre-orders - September 29 , Launch date - December 4

As stated above, the Xperia 5 II is more affordable than the Xperia 1 II and other modern flagships but compared to its predecessor, the Sony Xperia 5 which retails for $799, the Xperia 5 II is over 18% more expensive.
