Technology is advancing day by day, as everyone is in the race to make the next best thing, or something that catches the eyes of the tech media. Battery is one such department that’s improving day by day for smartphones, as we keep seeing bigger batteries in even budget devices, with fast charging capabilities you’d never have heard of before. The fastest charging available in the market as of now is from Oppo, and its 65W fast charging. However, we did hear about the Legion phone from Lenovo and its capacity of an absurd 90W fast charging inside the phone. Now it seems like Xiaomi is trying to get ahead of everyone in the game by introducing a 100W fast charging phone soon.
Last year we got the news from Xiaomi that they're trying to make a 100W fast charging battery cell. It’s been more than a year now, and we’ve gotten news that it’s in the commercializing process, and Xiaomi is trying to mass produce the 100W fast charging battery units and making sure it won’t damage or affect smartphones negatively. There’s a lot to consider before making such a powerful battery, and safety is probably the biggest concern. Xiaomi will need to make sure it secures the phone and the components surrounding the battery so that they don’t get affected negatively from the power packed battery.
It’s good to see Xiaomi stepping up their game as they usually do, and trying to make their own rapid charging battery cells for future devices, as it will definitely be a major selling point for the phones that do contain the battery. It’s said to charge a 4000 mAh cell in just 17 minutes, which is unheard of. We hope to see the technology being implemented soon inside future phones.
