Xiaomi To Have The First Phone With Snapdragon 875 In 2021 Q1

Xiaomi seems to have a particular partnership with Qualcomm, because lately they’ve been getting a lot of preference from the Snapdragon manufacturer in several different areas. Firstly, we saw that Xiaomi would have the first phone to get Qualcomm Quick Charge 5.0, which would allow the phone to get over 100W in fast charging support. Then we saw Xiaomi also get preference with the new Snapdragon 732G that was launched by Qualcomm, as the Poco X3 NFC (sub-brand of Xiaomi) was going to be the first phone to have that chipset inside. Now, it seems like Xiaomi might also be the first one to get the upcoming chipset from Qualcomm being the Snapdragon 875.

Well known leaker Digital Chat Station talked about an upcoming Xiaomi device that is in the works, as we should expect to see it with the Snapdragon 875 before the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival), which takes place around mid February.

The phone expected to get launched with the upcoming Snapdragon flagship chipset is rumoured to be the Mi 11 series, as they are the top most flagship phone lineup from Xiaomi, and so it would make sense to put the flagship processor in this series. We do not know whether the Chinese manufacturer will call it the Mi 11, or go with Mi 20, but what is certain is that it is going to feature the Snapdragon 875 by the look of things.

Another rumour in the air is that the upcoming Mi flagship device will also come with an under-display front camera - something we’ve heard a lot about in the past few days. Xiaomi itself showed the technology and it’s even expected to come in a variant of the Mi 10 Ultra.

Things definitely look to be interesting with Xiaomi, as it recently became the third biggest manufacturer in the European region, with its eyes on the whole world now. The close cooperation and partnership with Qualcomm will definitely help in powering them forward in the market race.
