Who Will Be The First Smartphone With Snapdragon 8 Gen 2?
We know when Qualcomm’s new top chipset will arrive, but it is undisclosed which smartphone will be the first to have it. A source revealed the release period of this mysterious smartphone.
The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be announced during the Qualcomm summit on November 2022. The Asian market is also waiting for this big news. According to a source, the first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s latest top chipset will be presented in the second half of November.
As we know that the Moto Edge X30 was the first with Snap 8 Gen 1. The announcement took place on December 9, 2021, while the Xiaomi 12 range was launched on December 28, 2021.
Probably the same will happen again this year, and the Moto Edge 40 Pro will beat the Xiaomi 13 family.
According to the latest rumours about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the new chipset should bring significant improvements, with reduced consumption. It is possible that the solution created by TSMC with a 4 nm production process, four clusters (1 Cortex-X3, 2 Cortex-A720, 2 Cortex-A710, 3 Cortex-510) and an Adreno 740 GPU for the graphics part.
Moving on to models equipped with Qualcomm’s latest top SoC, Moto Edge 40 Pro should be the name of the Motorola-branded smartphone. According to the well-known insider Evan Blass, we will have a Full HD+ display at 165 Hz, a 50 MP camera (with a 50 MP wide angle and a 12 MP telephoto lens) and a 60 MP mega selfie camera.
As for Xiaomi 13 Pro, there are rumours of a 12-bit Samsung E6 panel and super-performing charging. We could also see the return of ceramic as a back cover material. The top of the Xiaomi range would also have already been certified in Europe.
