We’ve all witnessed it in our lives at least once, that whenever we shift from one phone to the other, it gets difficult to transfer all the data completely. Yes, Google has made it incredibly easy to transfer most things across devices, but sometimes some files get lost. One such issue that people usually face when transferring data between phones is from Whatsapp. Whatsapp oftentimes loses some data for users when they shift to a different phone, which can be frustrating to say the least. Moreover, if you don’t wanna transfer, but just want to operate Whatsapp on two different devices on the same number - you can’t even do that. However, that might about to be changed.
It’s being speculated that Whatsapp is going to implement the possibility of linking 4 different phones with the same number/account - something which just wasn’t possible before. As of now, you can only link your Whatsapp account on your laptop or desktop through Web Whatsapp. However, there will be several hurdles in the way of Whatsapp that it will need to clear up before it could make this change. One such issue will be the implementation of a personal encrypted cloud setup, which the app didn’t have before, as it makes use of iCloud and Google Drive currently.
This update would make the lives of millions of Whatsapp users a lot easier, as you will be able to use Whatsapp on several devices, just like you can on other social media applications like Snapchat, Messenger, Instagram and Telegram. We hope to see this feature rolled out for Whatsapp soon, perhaps by the end of this year.
