PUBG Mobile Officially Removed From Play Store And App Store In India

The recent tension amidst India and China due to the border dispute at Ladakh has led to a couple of clashes between the two armies in the region, resulting in several casualties on both sides. As a way to retaliate against China, PM Narendra Modi announced and called for the banning of 118 Chinese apps in India, including PUBG which was a major source of income for thousands of Indian gamers, as it brought millions of players on the platform daily. Other apps like WeChat - China’s biggest social media platform, TikTok and UC Browser have also been banned by the Indian government, as they look to cut off all funding to China made by Indian audiences.
As of today, the 4th of September, PUBG Mobile has been officially taken off the Play Store and the App Store on iOS - as the Indian government looks to put an end to all activity related to PUBG in India. The surprising part is that the servers haven't actually been shut off just yet, as they're still up and running for players. However, it's expected that they should also be shut down soon, as users will get a notification for the end of the popular game.
This was the statement made by the Indian government for banning these apps:
"The compilation of these data, its mining and profiling by elements hostile to national security and defence of India, which ultimately impinges upon the sovereignty and integrity of India, is a matter of very deep and immediate concern which requires emergency measures,"
