Android 11 has been one of the most talked about subjects in the past few weeks, as everyone is eager to know when the newest version of Android will be released for them to use on a daily basis. For now, the stable release of Android 11 is several months away, but we do have on our hands the beta version of Android. They've even worked on all of the important foundations necessary for the stable build, and the beta versions out now are mostly for bug related issues and any tinkering they might need before the final release.
The Android beta programme had only been for Snapdragon supported mobile devices, as phones with all other chipsets weren't supported. However, now we finally have the first MediaTek powered phone which has the Android 11 Beta 1 version available for download on the device - and it's a surprise. Tecno is the first phone manufacturer with a MediaTek processor to get on the beta programme of Android 11. The Tecno Pouvoir 4 is the phone to get it first, as Tecno also had a phone in the Android 10 beta as well.
It's important to realize that getting the Android 11 Beta on your device will lead to a few potential issues, such as battery life being affected, performance degradation and things of that sort. Yes you'll be able to access most of Android 11's new features, but it will come with a possible negative effect on your device's performance. Nonetheless, it's nice to see a non-Snapdragon phone on the list of Android 11 Beta programme supported phones as well - kudos to Tecno!
