The Apple M1 chipset that was announced last November for Mac computers, if nothing else, managed to steal the show, as it marked the unblocking of Apple by Intel! Apple stayed on the Mac and added the M1 and the iPad Pro that were announced at its recent spring event. Of course, this success could sound a 'bell' in the competition, which is why, according to well-informed sources, AMD and Samsung have joined forces, creating the 'rival' of the M1, which will be called Exynos 2200!
This chipset will essentially mark the beginning of the partnership between Samsung and AMD, as it will be the first to include a built-in GPU. The two companies are in agreement since 2019, but although they have joined hands so far, we have not seen any tangible product and have just remained in rumours. If the reports come true, the next-gen SoC that AMD and Samsung have in the works will be made at 5nm, with the same sources emphasizing that this new chipset will offer impressive computing power and even better energy management. If all goes according to the company's design, there is a good chance that we will see the Exynos 2200 in a Windows-10 laptop and the future flagships of Samsung (S22). We are waiting with interest for something more tangible!
