The Poco family of phones from Xiaomi has been utterly popular and loved globally, especially in the South Asian market, because of the abundance of mid range users residing in these countries. Poco F1 or the Pocophone was famous globally for providing never before seen specs at around 300 dollars, which was insane. Then the Poco F2 Pro was launched, which is a top-tier device again with great all around specs and a flagship-level processor inside it. However, Xiaomi is drifting away from the F series, or more specifically, has added a new one: The Poco M series.
Xiaomi has recently unveiled the latest Poco M2 Pro smartphone in India, a market where the phone is guaranteed to succeed, as have the other affordable smartphones with amazing specs from Xiaomi - with the likes of Redmi Note 8 Pro and Note 9 series as well. The phone has a Snapdragon 720G inside, which is a dedicated gaming chipset and performs really well. It also has a 5000 mAh battery unit with a 33W fast charging support, which is absurd at the price segment it comes with. The phone on paper seems to be a relative of the Redmi Note 9s and Note 9 Pro, but we’ll have to wait and see.
We do not know when the M2 Pro will drop in Pakistan, but it won’t take more than a month or two for it to arrive. We can expect a price tag of about 40,000 Pakistani Rupees, which is an increasingly saturated market segment nowadays. We hope to get our hands on the device soon as well.
