The Pixel lineup of phones was introduced as a flagship, premium range of phones from Google that would rival the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy phones and Apple’s best of those particular years. As we moved to the third year of the phone’s manufacturing though, we saw Google release a cheaper, smaller version of the Pixel, and called it the Pixel 3a. The 3a was absolutely adored within the smartphone community, thanks to the power and camera quality it packed in the price range it fell in. The phone inherited the camera from its older brother, being the Pixel 3, which at that time had the best camera on any smartphone - so you can imagine the reasoning behind the 3a’s hype.
However, with the recent news of Google discontinuing the production or sales of the Pixel 3a, and the 4a XL being called off as well - people were worried about not getting a Pixel 4a this year. We even got rumours about the 4a not being manufactured by Google. But, recently within the Google app’s code, it’s been found that the two Google phones coming to the market in 2020 will be the Pixel 5, and the Pixel 4a 5G - yes, it’s coming. Both these phones will likely feature a Snapdragon 765G, and similar camera setups as well. Google may try to introduce cheaper quality materials on the build of the Pixel 4a 5G, to differentiate it from the flagship model.
All in all, this is great news for Pixel fans and tech enthusiasts all over the world, as we’ll be getting another top phone in the mid-range market with an amazing camera and software - both of which are rarely ever executed well in this segment. Kudos to Google for making it happen!
