Who hasn’t heard of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? As peculiar as the name sounds today, it still is iconic and has cemented a place in our hearts for generations to come. We’ve all watched TMNT cartoons, movies or played its games once in our lives. From the much loved game “Turtles In Time” which was one of the best 2D arcades of its time, to all the cinematic movies we’ve come across over the past years. We even saw a guest appearance of the turtles in the critically acclaimed game Injustice 2, and it surely brought back memories and nostalgia to all the TMNT fans.
However, there’s another great news around the block for TMNT lovers, and that’s about a new mobile game that’s scheduled for September of this year. The game, being TMNT Mutant Madness, will be developed by Kongregate mainly, which is a popular game developer responsible for a lot of online flash games on websites like y8.com The game is supposed to be an RPG title, with open world type of gameplay on board, and will feature micro-transactions and in-game purchases that will be the main earning source of the developers.
We’re sure fans would’ve been more hopeful for TMNT to arrive on consoles, and rival the likes of Batman Arkham series, or the Spiderman titles that we’ve seen being released on the current-gen consoles in the recent past. Point being, even though Mutant Madness isn’t going to be a game with top-notch graphics or a bad-ass storyline meant for consoles, but it still is a step in the right direction, and might pave the way for a future TMNT game to feature on the next-gen consoles coming up soon!
