Xiaomi has been killing it in the tech world for the past few years, with amazing smartphones that can easily compete with flagship phones but at a fraction of the price. The Chinese manufacturer is mostly known for its smartphones in the market, with phones like the Redmi lineup, and the Mi series. However, the company makes a ton of other products, and is very good at some of them too. One such product is the fitness band that Xiaomi produces, known as the Mi Band Series. Xiaomi makes one of the best fitness bands for the price range, and that’s why they’re so popular amongst the masses.
Recently we have gotten the news of the Mi Band 5 releasing on June 11th in China as per reports from Chinese sources. We also have rumours and leaks about what changes we can expect to see in the band, and what will remain the same in the 5th iteration of the Mi Band. Right off the bat, we have gotten the information that the Mi Band 5 will have a screen that will be 20% bigger than its predecessor. Meaning, whereas the Mi Band 4 had a 0.95” display, the upcoming variant will house a 1.2” display. This is a great improvement over previous versions, since now you’ll have a considerably larger screen size and it will make the user experience a lot better.
Another improvement coming to the latest Mi Band 5 will be the ability to charge it without taking the module out from the band. This was a nuisance in the previous series, and one of the few issues present in the bands. Now that you can throw the band on a magnetic adapter, charging won’t feel like a pain in the neck - kudos to Xiaomi for working on this problem.
The Mi Band 5 is set to release on 11th June in China, and we can’t wait to test it out and see how the new screen and charging mechanism work out in real life.
