The smart band market is pretty saturated as of now, as almost every smartphone manufacturer is jumping on the opportunity to make smartwatches and smart bands, but most of them have been underwhelming and consisting of the same old features that we’ve grown accustomed to. However, Huawei actually released an interesting piece of hardware a couple of years ago, which seems unique even by today’s standards.
The TalkBand B5 smart band from Huawei could do two things in one, as it was primarily a smart band when sitting in its strap, and could function just like a proper one as well. However, when you took it out of its strap casing, it actually became a bluetooth headset, and had the capabilities and features to perform as one. This was definitely a great idea from Huawei, and it seems like they’re bringing a sequel to it, as the TalkBand B6 may very well be on its way to the market to have similar dual functionality as its predecessor. The B6 will be powered by Huawei’s Kirin A1 processor, and will support Bluetooth 5.1 along with having a decent 1.53” screen size.
The band will come in two versions: a sports one with a rubber strap, and a slightly more premium one which will come with a leather strap casing. Huawei has claimed that even the more expensive variant won’t be too pricey, and that just adds to the anticipation even more.
