Last year, Huawei launched the Mate 30 series. This year, while there is still no official word regarding the release of the Mate 40, multiples leaks and rumors regarding the series are surfacing. As disclosed by @DigitalChatStation, the Matte 40 Series is alleged to have 3 phones: Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro+.
Supply chain sources also reveal that the Mate 40 will use a single front camera while the Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ are likely to house a dual front camera. For the Mate 40 Pro, the dual selfie lens will feature a a Sony IMX588 camera and a ToF sensor Sony IMX516. The Huawei Mate 40 series, on the other hand, will feature a Sony IMX700 lens which is the 50-megapixel sensor that Honor introduced in its flagship phone Honor 30 Pro+.
Huawei Mate 40 Series Speculation:
It was revealed that the Huawei Mate 40 will come with a 6.67-inch curved LG screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The model will have a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main, 20MP ultra-wide-angle and an 8MP telephoto camera. The phone also has a laser auto-focus module. The phone will be equipped with Kirin 9000E and Kirin 9000 processor and will run on MUI 10.x based on Android 11 and Huawei Mobile Services.
The Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ will include a waterfall screen from LG Display and BOE with a 90Hz refresh rate. The rear camera, as disclosed in a leak, will feature a quad camera set up and include circular camera module with a 50MP sensor using Huawei’s liquid camera technology which was speculated to not be features until the Huawei P50’s release next year. The series will have a battery capacity of 4300 mAh, 4600 mAh, and 5000 mAh.
The release of the Mate 40 series still remains unclear though it was learnt from recent report that claimed that the Mate 40 series might go official at the end of October.
