Google Pixel phones have only recently gotten on the hype train amongst the masses, as every new Pixel leak or rumour is eagerly waited upon by the tech world. We recently got the update that the Pixel 3a has been discontinued by Google, and it shaked the tech community globally. Even the leaks about the Pixel 4a possibly being cancelled has gotten everyone on the edge of their seats, as it was a phone that was much anticipated by everyone due to the popularity of the 3a previously.
Well, the rumour we’re here with for you now is that we have our hands on renders of the upcoming Pixel 5. The phone is going to come with a punch-hole display at the front, and a boxy camera module at the back of the phone, which of course resembles the latest Apple iPhone series. It’s clear that Google hasn’t really focused too much on the hardware, as is the case usually, because the phone is still going to have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner in 2020 - where most mid rangers have also opted for an in-display scanner. There’s no visible type-C port on the phone either, but we’ve gotten used to that now. The camera setup at the back houses dual cameras, and it will be interesting to see what trick Google pulls out of its sleeve for this year’s flagship devices - because they’ve always been known mainly for their camera performance.
All in all, it seems as if the Pixel 5’s design is going to be nothing out of the ordinary as compared to 2020’s standards, and will look like a mere mid range device rather than a proper flagship. Nonetheless, Google has always focused on the features inside rather than the looks outside, so we’ll have to wait and see if the Google Pixel 5 is any good or not.
