Last month, Google said it will soon add some interesting new features to its Pixel smartphone's Fit application. Users will be able to measure heart rate by placing their fingers on the rear camera and measuring breathing rate through selfies. According to AndroidPolice reports, Google will launch these two new Fit Mobile Vitals features today.
IT Home understands that users only need to cover the rear camera with their fingers during heart rate monitoring and 'slightly press' when they are fully covered. The camera sensor can then determine the heart rate by tracking the blood's color change as the fingertip moves (called a 'pulse photoacoustic signal'). The user can save the measurement result to the heart rate log.
