Google is one of the largest companies in the world, and it would be a no-brainer that whichever field they step their feet into, they’ll succeed at it. That’s been the case with their Pixel lineup of mobile devices. Pixel received a lot of praise about certain aspects of the phone, with the main one being its best in-class camera setup, which for the first two years was a single camera on the back, compared with other devices which opted for triple or even quad camera setups. This was mainly due to Google’s top of the line image processing software, which no one could come close to. A stock android software experience is another one of the company’s selling points, as they’re the ones that get all the updates first compared to other phones.
Awaiting the same experience in the newest Pixel model being the upcoming 5 series, we may have on our hands, finally, the phone’s structure and how it might look from the front and back. Images leaked by the notorious SlashLeaks, we have the pictures of how the Pixel 5 XL’s case might look like, and it seems like Google isn’t looking to do much different from its previous series. The phone will boast the same rectangular, iPhone-esque camera module at the back, which may contain 2 or 3 cameras, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The front shows thin bezels all around the phone with an outdated notch design.
The whole story with the upcoming Pixel 5 XL’s design just seems like Google isn’t ready to take on innovative grounds, and is opting for stale build styles, At the expected price of about 1000 dollars, it seems like you won’t be getting your money’s worth from the upcoming premium Pixel device in the design department at least. Well, nothing can change now, and by the looks of it, Pixel fans will have to make do with this underwhelming design this year.
