Android released its beta for its latest and upcoming OS version being the Android 11 a week or two ago specifically for Google’s own Pixel lineup of phones. However, users of other smartphone manufacturers were left quite upset with their exclusion from the beta program, as they were a part of the last beta program for Android Q. The beta seems to bring a lot of improvements and little tweaks with Android 10 to just enhance the user experience. After a few days being passed of Google’s devices being listed to get the beta, now we also have news that Xiaomi has made the Android 11 beta available for Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro users to download and use. We also have reports that the Poco F2 Pro is going to receive the beta access as well.
Before installing the Android 11 beta on your listed Xiaomi device, you need to be informed that a beta version of an OS might have bugs and the experience might not be as smooth as you think. Also, you’ll need to be able to download the firmware and flash your ROM, all of which might nullify your phone warranty. If you’re okay with all that, you can head on to the Mi Forums to download the files for the Mi 10 here, and the Mi 10 Pro here.
You’ll need to download the USB Driver on your computer, then flash your ROM through the Mi Flash Tool. You’ll need to keep in mind that flashing the ROM will clear all data on your device, so make sure you backup all your files on your phone before attempting to download the beta.
It is an added effort, but you’ll be able to take advantage of all the new features and improved UI of Android 11.
